10/30 - Neighbors exploring the streets of Chinatown, Manhattan the morning after Super Storm Sandy.
10/30 - The morning after the storm, barricades from the East River promenade of South St are washed up to the Knickerbocker apartment complex on Cherry and Market Streets.

10/31 - If there was gas then there was cooking... by candlelight. This dark restaurant on 7th street and 3rd avenue was full of customers.
10/31 - Residents wait their turn to power devices off a gas run generator at a motor repair shop in Chinatown. This is at the foot of the Manhattan bridge on Forsyth and Division.
10/31 - Lighting my pitch black stairwell with my cell phone.

10/31 - High rise apartment dwellers with no water getting pumped up to thier apartments making one of many trips to a hydrant. The mayor raised the levels of chlorine in the water during this time as an added measure of safety.
10/31 - Seeing the ederly filling containers of water at fire hydrant was a very common site in Lower Manhattan.

10/31 - Residents getting some hot food some hot food in at Luzzo's on 1st avenue and 12th streets.
10/31 - Heavy traffic throughout the city resulted in the Mayor iaauing a plus 3 rule placed in effect on 11/1. Only cars with 3 or more passengers would be allowed into the city.
10/31 - Subway service disruptions in Lower Manhattan and Staten Island.
10/31 - Biking home across the line where the have and have nots meet. Notice the functioning taffic light vs the non functioning traffic lights on the 30th and Madison avenue.
10/31 - I ran into this watering station on 2nd avenue and 27th street. I wish I saw more of these in Lower Manhattan.

10.31 - Heard a report on 10 10 wins that power was being restored in Lower Manhattan. I immediately returned home to discover that power was on just up to my block on Market and Henry. However, it was nice to see and hear people cheering in the streets as power was restored in their homes.

10.31 - I was very fortunate to still have water pumping up to my 6th floor aparment. This made the situation a little more tolerable than not having water like in the blackout of '03.
11/2 - View of my apartment window on Market and Henry in Chinatown. This was the light divide Friday evening as Con Edision began restoring power to sections of Manhattan. Power was restored on Friday aprx. 7.3 pm with the threat of low temperatures (38 degrees) and a nor'easter on its way.
